For Office Hours this month, we had a presentation by Sama Morsy, ResFrac Senior Consulting Engineer. Sama gave a presentation on her 2021 paper with Chevron on Unconventional Optimized Strategy Development Workflow (SPE 200775). The paper was authored by Sama, Mauro Menconi, and Boasheng Liang. In this presentation, Sama discusses completion design optimization due to depletion and also the preloading process to safeguard against damage to parent and child wells due to depletion and offset fracturing. She also highlighted additional modeling capabilities with ResFrac and how ResFrac can be used for the optimal evaluation of completion designs.
